Chinonso Obasi elected as new ‎NANS president

Chinonso Obasi elected as new ‎NANS president
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected a new president to spear-head the affairs of the organization for the next one year.
He is Comrade Chinonso Obasi, a student of the Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
Comrade Obasi was declared winner at the end of the NANS Convention held in Gombe State University over the weekend.
In his acceptance speech, the new NANS President said he was happy to witness the event and promised to bring to an end the confusion which had trailed the process leading to his election.
He blamed the confusion on what he described as the desperate attempt by some agents of the “State” to manipulate the process of electing the new leadership of the Association in favour of an anointed candidate of a political party in the country.

Manchester United agree terms with Paul Pogba

Hold onto your hats, folks: Manchester United could be on the brink of pulling off one of the transfer coups of the summer. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, who is about as reliable a transfer ‘expert’ as it’s possible to be, the club have agreed personal terms with Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
Though United are yet to make a formal bid for the player — they’re reportedly waiting until the end of Euro 2016, at which point they’ll present a €120 million offer to the Italian champions — they seem to have negotiations with the player and his agent, Mino Raiola, done and dusted. The marauding midfielder will reportedly be paid a very healthy €13m a season for his services.
Regardless of the cost, it’s impossible to think this isn’t very good news for United in sporting terms; Pogba is patently one of the very best players on the planet at present, and occupies a role in which United have been particularly weak over the last few seasons.

Chimamanda Adichie Announces The Birth of Her Child

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Popular Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Adichie, and her husband Dr. Ivara Esegee have welcomed a baby girl. Chimamanda exclusively revealed the news to Financial Times in a recent interview held in Lagos.
She said:

“This is the first time I’m saying it publicly,” she said in the interview with Financial Times. “I have a little girl. I have some friends who probably don’t know I was pregnant or that I had a baby, I just feel like we live in an age when women are supposed to perform pregnancy. We don’t expect fathers to perform fatherhood. I went into hiding. I wanted it to be as personal as possible.”
Big congratulations to her.
