Italy outclassed Spain to knock out the defending champions and reach the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.
Giorgio Chiellini prodded home in the first half, finishing the rebound after David de Gea saved Eder's free-kick.Alvaro Morata missed the chance to equalise with a header after the break and at the other end De Gea saved when Eder was clean through on goal.
Italy survived Spanish pressure before Graziano Pelle scored a late second to set up a quarter-final against Germany.
